Should I buy Microsoft 365 Personal or Family?

Short answer

Family at €99/year covers up to six people with 1 TB OneDrive each. Personal at €69/year covers one user with 1 TB. If two or more people in your household will use it, Family is cheaper per person.

The longer explanation

Family costs €99/year and adds five additional 'people' slots at no extra charge — each with their own Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook install rights, their own 1 TB OneDrive, and their own Microsoft account. Per-person cost drops from €69 (Personal) to about €16.50/year when all six seats are used.

Personal is the right pick for a single-user household or someone whose family already has separate M365 subscriptions from an employer or school. If you want Copilot Pro, both plans qualify — add-on price is identical, so Family multiplies the value only if multiple household members will actually use Copilot.
