Choose Office by licensing channel, not just the application list

Start by deciding whether you need a fixed Office release or a subscription. Office 2024 is a perpetual release: it does not automatically include the next major version, and perpetual use does not mean perpetual security updates. Microsoft 365 supplies subscription benefits while the subscription remains active. For a household, Microsoft 365 Family gives each participant a separate Microsoft account and personal storage allocation; it is not one shared account for everyone.

Check the precise edition and licensing channel before buying Professional Plus. Microsoft distributes Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 through volume licensing, with rights governed by the applicable agreement and Microsoft Product Terms. A working activation key alone does not establish that a buyer has the required licence rights. Ask which Microsoft product the listing represents and what documentation establishes your entitlement. Do not assume that Professional Plus has the same account association or transfer rules as consumer retail Office.

Check Windows 11 compatibility and upgrade rights before installation

Before selecting Windows 11 Pro, run Microsoft's PC Health Check application on the intended computer. Windows 11 requires a supported processor, TPM 2.0 and UEFI firmware with Secure Boot capability, alongside its memory and storage requirements. Meeting only the RAM and disk requirements is not enough. Buying Pro does not make an unsupported computer eligible, and bypassing hardware checks can leave the installation unsupported and without a guarantee of receiving updates.

Next, open Settings, then System, then Activation, and record the installed edition and activation status. A Home installation needs a valid Pro entitlement to become Pro; reinstalling Home will not make a Pro key match that edition. Distinguish a full licence from an upgrade licence, which may require qualifying software. Under Microsoft's retail Windows terms, stand-alone software can generally move to another device after removal from the previous one; preinstalled Windows normally transfers only with its licensed device.

• Confirm that a listing supplies a full licence or an upgrade entitlement.
• Linking a digital licence to a Microsoft account can help with reactivation; it does not create transfer rights.
• A motherboard replacement can trigger reactivation.

Install the right Office edition and configure Danish language settings

First, identify the exact Office product and installation method supplied with its legitimate licence. Consumer retail Office commonly uses Microsoft's redemption and account services, whereas volume-licensed Office follows a different deployment and activation process. Do not enter every type of key into the same redemption page. Before changing installations, back up documents and Outlook data where applicable, record existing account details, and check Microsoft's compatibility guidance for any Office, Visio or Project products already installed.

After installation, configure language and regional preferences separately. In Office for Windows, open an application and use File, Options, Language to review display and authoring languages; Danish proofing support may require an additional language accessory pack. Windows region settings also affect default date, number and currency formats. These settings do not change your licence rights. For Excel workbooks shared across countries, verify decimal separators, date interpretation and CSV delimiters before importing or exporting important data.

• Keep Office, Visio and Project architecture compatible; do not mix 32-bit and 64-bit Office components.
• Restart Office applications after changing their display language.
• Check whether a date such as 03/04 is interpreted as intended.

• Never run unofficial activation scripts or disable security software to force activation.

Keep evidence of licence rights and understand Danish buyer protections

For a Danish business purchase, retain more than the email containing the key. Keep the invoice, exact product description, licence terms and any documents explaining how the rights were acquired or transferred. An invoice helps substantiate a transaction but does not, by itself, prove that every Microsoft licensing condition is met. If used perpetual software is offered, ask for the original licensing channel and evidence supporting a lawful transfer rather than relying solely on successful activation.

Private consumers and business buyers do not necessarily have the same cancellation protections. Danish and EU distance-selling rules generally provide consumers with a withdrawal period, but digital content supplied without a physical medium can lose that protection once performance begins with the required express consent and acknowledgement. Statutory remedies for non-conforming digital content are separate from a retailer's voluntary refund promise. For business invoicing, verify the customer identity and VAT treatment instead of assuming that any business purchase automatically qualifies for reverse charge.

• Save the product listing and applicable terms as they appeared when ordering.
• Ask which entity supplies the licence and appears on the invoice.
• Give accurate business details and a valid VAT number where relevant.
• Treat activation status and proof of licence entitlement as different checks.
• Do not publish product keys in reviews, forums or screenshots.
