Checkliste vor dem Upgrade
- · Vollständiges Backup (Systemstatus + Daten). Stellen Sie die Daten auf einem separaten Rechner testweise wieder her.
- · IP, Hostname, verbundene Domäne und installierte Rollen dokumentieren.
- · setup.exe /scanonly ausführen, um Blockierungen zu erkennen – Drittanbieter-Treiber, abgelaufene Antivirensoftware.
- · Für DCs: adprep /forestprep und adprep /domainprep von den 2025-Medien auf einem 2019/2022-DC vorab ausführen.
- · Drittanbieter-Antivirensoftware während des Upgrades deaktivieren.
Das Upgrade durchführen
2025-ISO einbinden
Binden Sie die ISO ein oder schließen Sie das Installationsmedium an. Nicht auf eine Netzwerkfreigabe entpacken – nur lokale Dateien verwenden.
setup.exe als Administrator starten
Wählen Sie „Upgrade: Microsoft Server-Betriebssystem installieren und Dateien, Einstellungen und Anwendungen behalten".
Passende Edition auswählen
Standard wird auf Standard, Datacenter auf Datacenter upgegradet. Ein Editions-Mismatch führt zum Fehler.
60–90 Minuten Ausfallzeit einplanen
Mehrere Neustarts. Die Phase „Updates werden verarbeitet" ist normal – bitte nicht unterbrechen.
Nach dem Upgrade
Windows Update erneut ausführen, Rollen überprüfen, AD-Replikation auf DCs validieren (repadmin /replsum).
Rollback-Optionen
Windows.old speichert die vorherige Installation 10 Tage lang – ein Rollback ist über Einstellungen → Wiederherstellung → Zur vorherigen Version zurückkehren möglich. Nach 10 Tagen werden die Rollback-Dateien gelöscht; eine Wiederherstellung erfordert dann ein Bare-Metal-Restore aus dem Backup.

- Kann ich während des Upgrades von Server Core auf Desktop Experience wechseln?
- Nein. Der Installationstyp (Core vs. Desktop) kann während eines In-Place-Upgrades nicht geändert werden. Planen Sie für diesen Zweck eine Neuinstallation.
