Keuze: klassiek Outlook of nieuw Outlook?
Office 2024 wordt geleverd met zowel klassiek Outlook (.exe, volledig uitgerust) als nieuw Outlook (preview, lichter). IMAP-instelling is eenvoudig in de klassieke versie; nieuw Outlook verwerkt IMAP anders door te synchroniseren via de Microsoft-cloud.
Voor Gmail en iCloud met strikte privacyvereisten gebruikt u klassiek Outlook, zodat e-mail rechtstreeks van uw provider naar uw pc stroomt.
Genereer een app-wachtwoord
- · Gmail: myaccount.google.com → Beveiliging → Verificatie in twee stappen → App-wachtwoorden. Genereer er een met het label 'Outlook'.
- · iCloud: appleid.apple.com → Aanmelden en beveiliging → App-specifieke wachtwoorden. Dezelfde procedure.
- · Yahoo, AOL, Fastmail: vergelijkbare app-wachtwoordprocedure in de accountinstellingen.
Het account toevoegen in Outlook 2024
Bestand → Account toevoegen
Voer het e-mailadres in. Kies 'Geavanceerde opties' en vink 'Ik wil mijn account handmatig instellen' aan.
Kies IMAP
Outlook biedt Exchange/Office 365/IMAP/POP aan. Kies IMAP.
Voer de serverinstellingen in
Gmail: imap.gmail.com:993 SSL, smtp.gmail.com:465 SSL. iCloud: imap.mail.me.com:993, smtp.mail.me.com:587 STARTTLS.
Plak het app-wachtwoord
Gebruik het app-specifieke wachtwoord uit de vorige stap, niet uw echte accountwachtwoord.
Stuur een testbericht
Outlook voert automatisch een verzend-/ontvangsttest uit. Groen vinkje = klaar.
Veelvoorkomende IMAP-problemen
- · 'Kan geen verbinding maken met de uitgaande server' → SMTP-poort onjuist of verificatie uitgeschakeld. Gebruik altijd 'Dezelfde instellingen als voor de inkomende server'.
- · Verzonden items verschijnen dubbel → schakel 'Kopieën van berichten opslaan in de map Verzonden items' uit (Gmail slaat ze automatisch op de server op).
- · Mappen ontbreken → het IMAP-hoofdmailboxpad moet mogelijk worden ingesteld op 'INBOX'.

- Ja. IMAP is servergebaseerd — alle wijzigingen die u in Outlook 2024 aanbrengt (lezen, verwijderen, verplaatsen) worden gesynchroniseerd naar alle andere IMAP-clients die verbonden zijn met hetzelfde account.
